Marines, veterans and their families gathered at the Yemassee train station for the 2nd Annual Yemassee Train Depot Reunion Oct. 16. Yemassee was the first stop for eager recruits seeking to earn the title United States Marine before reaching Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island from 1915 to 1965. Marines with Range Company, Weapons and Field Training Battalion aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island participated in Operation Adrenaline Rush at the James Island County Park in Charleston, S.C., Aug. 22. To compete in the biannual competition, the Marines needed to complete the Culinary Foundations Course and have one of the top four scores in the class.
