MCAS BEAUFORT --
Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron hosted a unit fundraising event for the 2013 Marine Corps Ball, Feb. 27.
A dunk tank was present at the fundraising, giving participants a chance to dunk H&HS leadership. Lunch was also sold for $5 consisting of two hotdogs, chips and a drink.
“Fundraising helps reduce the cost of ball tickets allowing Marines and attendants an opportunity to enjoy themselves without having to worry too much about price,” said Lisa Montanez, H&HS family readiness officer and Philadelphia native.
The 2013 H&HS Marine Corps Ball will be held at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort and Spa in November.
“Events like these have a positive influence on Marines because it improves morale while giving everyone a chance to get away from the working environment and support a good cause,” said Bease, a native of Baltimore.
This month the unit has raised more than $1,500 from the dunk tank and lunch event.
On April 6, H&HS is slated to host a unit Casino Night at the Sanctuary Golf Course on Cat Island. The event will include craps, roulette, blackjack and poker for all H&HS Marines, sailors and civilian Marines. Childcare will be provided.
This year, the unit’s goal is to raise $30,000 in support of their Marine Corps Ball.
