Justin Boyer during his promotion ceremony aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island July 2. Ashley also pinned Boyer to staff sergeant in 2014. Boyer was a friend and mentor to Sgt. Joshua Ashely who was killed in action in 2012 supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

The provost marshal and the kennel master with the MCAS Beaufort Provost Marshal’s Office oversaw the certification .The certification scenarios were held in one of the storage warehouses on the air station and tested both the handler and the dog on their ability to work together. Fifth grade students of Bolden Elementary graduate a Drug Abuse Resistance Education graduation at Laurel Bay Dec. 16. The students completed the 10-week curriculum, finishing with an essay on what they learned throughout the course.
