Matthew Stover hands out awards to students during the Earth Day poster award ceremony aboard Laurel Bay April 24. Children from Charles F. Bolden Elementary School and Elliott Elementary School competed in the poster contest as a way to educate and involve children on environmental management. This year�s theme for the contest was �Give a hoot, Don�t Pollute.� April 22 has been designated as Earth Day since 1970 and Across the Marine Corps, installations are participating in Earth Day activities to help remind all Marines, Sailors, civilians, and their families that their everyday actions help protect our resources and contribute to the long-term success of the Marine Corps. Stover is the executive officer of Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort.
