The Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Beaufort Communication Strategy and Operations (CommStrat) Office is organized and structured to provide MCAS Beaufort and tenant commands support with community relations, graphics design, still and motion imagery in support of unit training, missions and operations. CommStrat is located aboard MCAS Beaufort, in Building 596. Support can be requested at our office during our normal hours of operation, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
MCAS Beaufort Photo Studio has curtailed operations to support photo needs while also taking measures to protect force health. Photos will be taken by appoinment only, to schedule an appointment email firstname.lastname@example.org. CommStrat Marines will not be adjusting uniforms and face masks are required when 6 feet of social distancing cannot be maintained.
Promotion photo requirements: Per MARADMIN 491-20, effective 1 September 2020, photographs are not authorized information for promotion boards and selection processes pertaining to assignment, training, education, and command. This prohibition includes official photographs located in the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF), as well as photographs submitted in correspondence by individual Marines. If you plan on requesting an OMPF photo this form (click here) must be filled out by your S3, no more than 30 days prior to your studio appointment.
Command Board Photos and Official Portraits: All official portraits and command board photographs are to be taken in Service “A” with ribbons and badges. Command Board Photographs contain both the American flag and the Marine Corps flag. Official portraits are any other photograph required for official use to identify positions of leadership, authority or billet that are not command specific, however it does not have the Marine Corps flag.
No-fee government passport requirements: No-fee government passports are for government use only. The requestor will need a DD Form 1056 or copy of web orders and a non-white collared shirt.
