Stephen Binyard’s grave is displayed at the unveiling of Edgerly Cemetery aboard Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort Sept. 18. The cemetery has been cleaned-up and restored to honor the memory of Binyard and the other ancestors of the Edgerly Plantation whose burial locations have yet to be discovered. In 1866, after serving in the Union Army for three years, Binyard and his family bought a piece of land on Edgerly Plantation.
