Marines, veterans and their families gathered at the Yemassee train station for the 2nd Annual Yemassee Train Depot Reunion Oct. 16. Yemassee was the first stop for eager recruits seeking to earn the title United States Marine before reaching Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island from 1915 to 1965. The Great SouthEast ShakeOut is a multi-state earthquake drill spanning much of the southeast. Marines and sailors from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort and Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island participated in the Fourth Annual Tee It Up For The Troops, a free golf tournament held at the Sea Pines Country Club in Hilton Head, Oct. 3.The tournament pairs service members with country club members for a day of golf followed by an award ceremony and cookout.
