MCAS Beaufort Sexual Assault Prevention and Response

Mission Statement

Mission: Each member of this installation is of tremendous value to our mission and to the Marine Corps. The impact of sexual assault resonates across this Air Station and destroys our ability to work together in accomplishing our mission. This criminal act destroys morale, unit cohesion, and the focus of our people on the mission. It is contrary to our values as an installation and Marine Corps dedicated to the respect and dignity of our Marines, Sailors, civilians, and families.

For Males

Support for Men who have been sexually assaulted. You are not alone!

Sexual assault does happen to men and it is a time of confusion and emotional distress. This confusion and distress is one reason the majority of male survivors never come forward. This site is as a tool for survivors to find resources and take steps toward healing. The Department of Defense FY18 Report on Sexual Assaults highlights that of the estimated 20,500 sexual assaults involving service members, 0.7% or 7,500 men, confirm that they experienced some penetrative or contact sexual assault. 1 in 12 men who experienced sexual harassment also experienced sexual assault. Support is available. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

If you have been touched in a way that made you feel uncomfortable and would like to speak to a Victim Advocate, please call the MCAS Beaufort 24/7 Sexual Assault Helpline at 843-321-6009.

LGBTQIA+ Community

Sexual violence can affect anyone, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. LGBTQIA+ people who have been sexually assaulted may have different challenges when accessing support and face unique barriers when seeking care and protection or disclosing a sexual assault. Some factors include not being believed, homophobia, transphobia, and questioning one’s identity, which increase the difficulties an LGBTQIA+ survivor may encounter.
