Marines make landing at DragonBoat Beaufort 2018 - The Single Marine Program rowing team competes during the 6th annual DragonBoat Beaufort charity race June 23 at Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort. The team was comprised of Marines and Sailors from the Tri-command. This was the second year SMP put together a team for the event. Both local and traveling teams competed in the volunteer organized event that strives to create a strong sense of wellness through competition, camaraderie and also raises money for local cancer patients, survivors, and families. The SMP team received the fastest local time for the second year in a row.

Multiple F-35Bs with the Royal Air Force’s 617 Squadron “Dambusters” departed MCAS Beaufort headed for their new home at Royal Air Force Base Marham, England. The aircraft returning to the UK represents the transition from current to next generation air combat power for 617 Squadron. “617 Squadron has worked tirelessly for the past few weeks and months to prepare the aircraft to bring them to their final home of RAF Marham,” said Ground Capt. Cab Townsend, RAF Marham Station Commander.
